Ragged Rugs

5th October, 10:00am – 4:00pm with Lizzie of Ragged Life

Have fun turning old t-shirts and forgotten favourites into recycled works of art with the age-old skill of rag rugging. In this full day class you will learn all the skills you will need to be able to make unique rag rugs, cushions and art to spice up your home. Careful though, it’s addictive! In this workshop you will learn the 3 British techniques for making flowers, and then choose another project to begin under supervision in the afternoon e.g. a rag rug cushion, rag rug wreath, bouquet, shopping bag or rug. You will be provided with all the materials you need during the class but, as the charm of rag rugging is often in the memories attached to old clothes, you're welcome to bring along any of your own clothing you’d like to incorporate, particularly if you have clothing with sentimental value that you'd like to use.

Head over to our website to book your place. Any questions, just shoot Lizzie an email on hello@raggedlife.com - she'd love to hear from you; or visit https://www.raggedlife.com/pages/book-a-class

Christmas Felting

10th October, 10am – 1:30pm with Victoria Squires

Making Felt is an amazingly textural experience. It is also a perfect medium to make Christmas presents. Work with wool fibres and watch them transform into fabric. Your end result can be a made into a bag , brooches, ornament for a hat, vessel for keeping things in or alternatively mounted and framed. You can also use the felted piece to attach to fabric and make into cushion.
You can choose to use a landscape as inspiration or a variety of flora or fauna shapes, abstract shapes also work well! Victoria will help you transform your colours into a composition you will be proud of.
At the beginning of the workshop Victoria will show you examples and explain the process. She will then get you sketching some ideas for your composition and then embark on layering the fibres ! After this the felting process will take place. When your design melds together and is firm it will need some drying time! During this coffee break Victoria will show you how to make felt beads and needle felt. At the end of the day she will show you how to further embellish your piece.
An exciting day! With lots of skills to learn.

This class begins at 10:00 and finishes at 1:30pm, it is £45 which includes all your materials.

Places are limited so to reserve your place or for further information please please text Victoria on 07770783468 or email her at victoriacreates@btinternet.com , or visit http://www.victoriasquires.com/
